Our team proposed using unconventional structural systems to be able to accommodate the operational requirements while maintaining the feasibility of the construction process itself. The structural system utilized space trusses, varandeels and castellated steel beams which enabled us to design a steel structure capable of withstanding high live loads (up to 10 kPa) with free spans reaching up to 24 meters with minimum weights for the steel elements. Our design was reviewed by a team of French experts hired by the operating company and was adopted later on in similar projects done by the same company in many parts of the world.
