SODIC June – Reinforcement Detailing & BIM Integration

BIM-based rebar modelling and reinforcement shop drawings for structural elements (beams, slabs, columns) of the June residential development. Services included reinforcement detailing in Revit (beams, slabs, stirrups, rebar schedules), shop drawing packages for contractor approval, coordination with structural engineers and contractors to resolve site queries, and as-built documentation aligned with construction progress.

The Challenge

Large-scale residential projects require thousands of reinforcement details, often with complex geometry and strict quality control. For June Phase 1, the challenge was producing precise reinforcement shop drawings that conformed to design codes, while also ensuring smooth coordination between structural designers and the site execution team.

Our Approach

Our Approach

Our structural BIM team created reinforcement models in Revit, generating fully coordinated shop drawings with clear bar marks, dimensions, and schedules. This digital workflow reduced errors compared to manual drafting and allowed engineers and contractors to quickly review, approve, and execute reinforcement works. By integrating BIM-based detailing with site workflows, we delivered a package that improved constructability, reduced rework, and ensured full compliance with Egyptian and international design codes.
